The UNIHEAT team held a Closing event at Imperial College to show the project’s achievements after three years of joint collaboration.
The UNIHEAT project will be successfully closing at the end of December, after three and a half years of a multidisciplinary, international collaboration between Imperial College, the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis in Novosibirsk and BP dealing with Energy improvement in refining, with funding from BP Russia and the Skolkovo Foundation.
To mark the end of the project, the project team held an event to celebrate three years of research, industry engagement and technology transfer.
Research and Innovation by design
Prof Sandro Macchietto, project Co-director, presented a general overview of the project, how it was conceived and structured, with some fun anecdotes which showed the good relationship and team work between all partners.
Prof Omar Matar, Theme leader for Theme 1, gave an update of the Research Themes and achievements of the joint research during the lifetime of the project.
Dr Francesco Coletti, Industry Engagement Manager, presented the unique structure of this project in its approach to Industry and how this has been a success for the project.
IChemE Global Awards
The project has also been shortlisted for the IChemE Global Awards 2015 (Research Project of the Year category), with winner to be announced on Nov5. Watch the space for further News!
