As part of the Industry Engagement Programme, a delegation from the LUKOIL’s LUKOIL-Nishegorodniinefteprojekt visited Imperial College London on 28th August.
Sharing UNIHEAT’s expertise
The LUKOIL delegation visited several of the Imperial team’s facilities, including Professor Kazarian’s, Dr. Markides and Dr. Millan-Agorio’s labs as well as the HIPOR (HIgh Pressure Oil Rig) facility, a major new experimental test facility for experiments on crude oil fouling.
The UNIHEAT team also presented their work on analytical techniques for the chemical and physical characterization of crude oils and fouling deposits, advanced diagnostics and modelling of multiphase flow and catalytic upgrade of heavy oils.
Following the presentations, common areas of interest were identified and the UNIHEAT and Lukoil Nizhny Novgorod teams looked at how the project’s techniques could be applied to Lukoil’s needs.
